New indicators in ArcCensus 2011 database

The settlement level database of Hungarian Census (year 2011) was updated with 20 new indicators. Using the new indicators, we can visualise the differences by settlement level.

The new available dataset is the number of active earners by:

  • age groups,
  • highest educational attainment,
  • industry and
  • position in work.

KSH published the Housing Price Index, the most important indicators of the housing market in Hungary. We have created some thematic map, see below:

In year 2012. the specific home price was very different in the capital, Budapest and in the other regions. The highest price was typical in Budapest, especially in Buda and in the north-west agglomeration of Budapest. The specific home price was approximately the same in the east pool of lake Balaton, and agglomeration of Keszthely.

The north-east region of our country (Szabolcs and Borsod county), the unemployment rate is much higher, than the central region (Budapest and Pest county) and west region of Hungary.

The most individual candidates are the same constituencies of Hungarian election in the north-east and south-west regions, but it isn’ t so high in Nograd county (next to the central county, Pest).

Changes of street names of Hungary in the last year

Due to the requirements of Act CLXVII. of 2012. a lot of street name has changed in last year in Hungary.

In our Hungarian street name database, we follow the new created and renamed streets. The database has updated in every 3 month. The number of changes in last year:

  • 1. quarter / 2014. – number of changes is 678, number of rename of street name is 363
  • 4. quarter / 2013. – number of changes is 562, number of rename of street name is 296
  • 3. quarter / 2013. – number of changes is 398, number of rename of street name is 283
  • 2. quarter / 2013. – number of changes is 734, number of rename of street name is 230

Our street name database of Hungary contains more than 3 million individual address data by settlement.

How many jobseekers are in Hungary? – January 2014.

National Employment Service published the number of registered jobseekers in Hungarian settlements.

Datasource of the thematic maps

From the data published by National Employment Service, we created the relative indicator of unemployment rate, (average of registered jobseekers per resident population of working age). We created thematic maps to vizualise the differences of Hungarian settlements.

Young – Middle age – Elderly

The purchasing power of an area depends on the young or old age dependency ratio too. For example it could be an important question:

  • How many juvenile live in our target region?
  • Is high the old age dependency ratio in this city?

GeoIndeX database helps to answer these questions.
